I have the 6'10' Spin model, The rod has a lot of internal friction which severely restricts casting distance?
The rod is rated for 1-7g cast weights, however the rod will not throw weights of 2-3 g very far, maybe 15-17m. To give a clearer picture, if the bail arm is opened with a 4g lure attached it does not fall without having to bounce the rod, and then the lure falls very slowly. I have an older model Procaster which is much better.
So far I've tried 4 different reels, 2000 Luvius Airity, 2500 Luvius, 1000 Luvius and a 1000 Stella, Lines are PE 0.4 YGK, Gosen PE 0.5, Varivas Light Game PE 0.2 and Expedition PE 0.6. There is no difference in casting distance with any of the above reels or lines, FG knot used on all.
When the line is dry it does show a slight improvement when opening the bail arm, this disappears once the line gets wet. Is this a fault or something else.
Using the same reels and line on other rods give much improved casting distance Infeet 7" EX as an example.
The rod is very sensitive,
Once lure weights reach 6g and up it casts an acceptable distance.
