You can. Though using 30lb will limit your ability to throw ultra light lures. Bait Finesse is at its best when you have a complete system that's working together, and that system includes a light rod, finesse tuned reel, thin line, and light lures. Being too heavy in any of those minimises how effective the system is and works.
