Both would be ideal. The regular models in the Silver Creek range are suited to crankbaiting, while the fast taper models are good allrounder models. The Silver Creek are all sub 6'6" rods and more suited to close distance casting rather than longer distance casting and have been designed largely as a stream trout series. If doing more than stream trout is the goal than the TD Black series may offer more versatility.
