The Tang is designed as bait fishing rod for whiting. A rod such as the Macka 742MFS may give you the cast range that you're looking for, though you may find it a little heavy when throwing 1/8th plastics.
Best spin rod for soft plastics 1/8 - 1/4 oz and harbodies to 1 oz for salmon from a pier ? TANG 782LRS
