PE is a measurement of line thickness while kg is a measure of breaking strain, and the breaking strain to PE rating varies between brands and models. Here's a guide for two of our lines. J-Braid Grand (20lb/17.6kg- PE 2.5), J-Braid Expedition (20lb/17.6kg- PE 1.5). Hope that helps.
