Looking for a rod for jigs, stickbaits, soft plastics/live bait. Need fast action + backbone. AGS 2/3 or 3/4?
I’m trying to find the best rod option for my specific use case. I’ll primarily be using it to throw jigs and stickbaits around reefs and jetties, but I also need it to have enough sensitivity for soft plastics or live bait. A fast action rod is essential since I’ll be fishing inshore or backcountry waters like canals and need the backbone to pull fish out of snags.
The AGS 2/3 seems to meet my lure rating requirements, but I’m not sure if the AGS 3/4 would be a better fit based on my intended use. To add some context, I’m planning to fish in Florida for species like snook, jack, snapper, barracuda, and similar-sized fish (20-40lb) targeting them from jetties, bridges, canals, and other inshore spots. Could you advise on the most suitable option?
Or maybe this model is not the best option for my use case at all?!
Thanks

I think the AGS 2/3 would be the sweet spot for the style of fishing that you do.
