Single vs double handle?
I'm used to a single handle and would prefer that, but a friend said there's some performance benefit in squidding with a double handle, including balance and quick retrieves. I'm not convinced, and single handle seems more comfortable to me. Thoughts?

Strickly speaking your friend is correct. However a reel doesn't then become unbalanced, or you're unable to make fast retrieves when you using a single handle. If you feel more comfortable with a single handle then go the single handle.
