Is it the way I am spooling up. J'tread. Iam label up in water under some finger tension. Filling up to line holder on spool. Trying to get it right. 10 casts. Twisting. Strip off 5 meters, start again. In weight range. Fishing 12lb as river with snags.
Just can not believe the Twisting that I'm going through. Watched dawia pro spooling up on a U'tube, So after some help.Only started fishing as I retied. Not feeling relaxed at all...Brought a Steez baitcasters as well. But not going there, until I learn the spinning gear 1st.
Q. What if I spool straight off the roll?
Just over a kilometrer in the bin so far.

Robert 12lb J-Thread is a thick line to spooling up a 2500 reel with. I believe this would be the cause of your problems due to the line memory and the small and tight spool loops of the 12lb on the 2500 size spool. My advice would be to try a thinner J-Thread (traditionally I wouldn't fish any heavier than a 6lb mono on a 2500 reel) or opt for a PE mainline with a J-Thread leader. You could easily fish 12lb PE mainline with a 12lb J-Thread leader on a 2500 reel and not have any line issues.
