Need a rod that is versatile for narrow creeks and open water. Both soft plastic and hardbody lures. Which model?
I own the 712lfs and mainly use it for bream, flathead, pinkies and salmon, throwing the double clutch and plastics weighted no heavier than 1/8 Amazing rod.
I bought the 692ulfs td zero in hopes it would be what i was looking for but found it difficult to cast accurately in narrow creeks and too soft for my liking.

As a guide you want a sub 7' rod for narrow creeks and an over 7' rod for water. The 712LFS that you have is the one that I'd recommend for what you want to do. Therefore I would recommend two rods. The 681LFS for the creek work and the 731LFS for open water. You will now find 'Best Application' details above in the description that may help guide your choice.
